Finding the moments inbetween

These past few months, I’ve been shooting quite a few games of football. My local team, Skeid is an old Norwegian great, currently playing in the third tier. They have a great home ground, a loyal fan base and some exciting players.

Football is such great fun to shoot, especially when emotions run high, both in the stands and on the field. Although, it can sometimes feel a bit stale as a photographer, because you are limited to the same spots every game, due to league rules. But, it opens up for creativity, and I very much enjoy trying to do every game a bit differently than the last.

I really like finding the moments inbetween. Before the game, on the stands, talks between players and their community, and how everyone involved interacts with the game. Quite a few of my favorite photos from these games are not action shots, but more situations around the game.

Hoping to shoot more football going forwards!

Running around running

This weekend I was in Drammen, to shoot Drammen 10K, a relatively new race that has had enormous growth the past few years. There were over 4000 participants, and a lot of people were working day and night to make it happen. My job was to tell the story of how the race came to be, and what happened on the day.

I ended up running about as much as the people participating, but I can’t complain. This was a VERY fun occasion to shoot, and I’m quite happy with the results. At one point I ventured into a car park building on a whim, just to see if I could squeeze out a good shot from there. I ended up getting a few of my favs of the weekend from there. Will make sure to take more chances like this.

And, I will definitely do more running events. Proper fun!

An autumn adventure

The season definitely does not end in September. Last week, I loaded up my bike, and got on the train to reach the southernmost point of Norway, Lindesnes. The plan was to have a slow ride back to Oslo, along sleepy villages that are usually peaking during summer.

I found great weather, awful weather, tons of headwind and quite a few more hills than I imagined. As I was filming a lot of the trip as well, I did not take as many pictures as I would have liked. But, here are some highlights. More to come soon.
